Practice Owner and Principle Veterinarian

  • Coralyn Turner and Rowan Smith

Coralyn and Rowan are the practice owners and Coralyn is the principle veterinarian at Warwick Town and Country Vets.  Coralyn loves the challenge and the diversity that mixed practice has to offer.  Since Coralyn graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honors in 2007 she started her professional career here at Warwick Town & Country Vets.  After working here for 4 years, she decided that she needed a change so moved and worked for 2 years in Goondiwindi gaining much knowledge and experience in another mixed practice.  Missing the Warwick community and the lifestyle that this region has to offer, she returned to Warwick as a part owner of the clinic in 2014.  Taking over full ownership in 2015 she has continued to work hard in the practice maintaining a high quality of service and standard of care for the local Warwick community and surrounds.  She is equally happy to treat both small and large animals and has a particular interest in small animal surgery, especially orthopedics and is currently doing further study to gain competencies in a range of complicated procedures.  Her passion is also in cattle herd medicine. Coralyn is a member of Cattle Vets Australia and is accredited to perform bull breeding soundness examinations for herd health and sale cattle. She is also a member of the Equine Veterinarians and Small Animal Veterinarians.  Providing the best possible care to our clients and patients is her number one priority.

Co-owner Rowan is a qualified secondary school teacher at the local high school specialising in the areas of science and agriculture.  Rowan moved to Warwick in 2007 on a promotional position and on discovering all the opportunities regional towns have to offer decided to make Warwick home. Rowans love for animals began as a young boy keeping fish and has been an avid aquarist since then and has culminated in the salt water aquarium which he maintains and can be viewed in the waiting room of the clinic.  He has always had pets and has enjoyed some of the challenges of basic obedience training, which in more recent times has developed into a love of cattle which he breaks in for stud cattle shows. Rowan has recently taken a step back to a classroom teaching position which has allowed a greater involvement in the veterinary practice.  While most of the work he does is behind the scenes you will often see Rowan in the clinic after school, on weekends and after hours assisting Coralyn.

Coralyn and her husband, Rowan, have one gorgeous little dog, Kayla, who often join them on camping trips during their free time.  They also spend a lot of their time caring for their own cattle herd, showing their stud Droughtmaster Cattle in local and other regional shows.  Coralyn also enjoys riding her horse ‘Betty’ while Rowan enjoys riding his motorbike in their much needed down time.

Workplace Supervisor

  • Megs

Megs is our resident clinic cat and workplace supervisor. She came to us in quiet a state after living on the streets but soon won us over with her sense of humour and outgoing personality. It didn’t take long for us to decide she needed to become part of our team and now we couldn’t imagine the clinic without her. She spends her days keeping a close eye on all the staff, patients and sneaking treats out of the lunch room. She is the superstar of our clinic and a client favourite. You will often see her out on the front counter greeting clients and patients as they enter the clinic.
